Imperial College Academic Health Science Centre (AHSC) is a partnership between Imperial College London, The Institute of Cancer Research (ICR), Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Foundation Trust and The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust. Established since 2007, the centre aims to use research and education to advance new ways of preventing and treating disease.
In this online event, part of a series of online events from the AHSC, you will hear from two experts working in the field of obesity.
Dr Tony Goldstone, Consultant Endocrinologist at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and Senior Clinical Lecturer at Imperial College London, will discuss his work on hormonal control of appetite, the gut-brain axis and why obesity surgery works.
Dr Saira Hameed is a Consultant in Endocrinology and Diabetes at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at Imperial College London. She will talk about her work designing and trialling the noveland highly effective Imperial-SatPro weight management programme, which is described in her book, The Full Diet.
