Test of 'Time Trade Off' interviews - Second Call
The date given above is the date to register to take part by and not the date of the interviews. Appointments will be arranged between the researcher and the participant.
The researchers are going to be conducting 'Time Trade Off' interviews with people taking part in a trial of two types of surgery for bladder cancer. These interviews will ask participants questions about their preferences for different states of health for varying periods of time. This information will help the researchers to understand the impact of treatment on people's quality of life.
This opportunity is designed to test the interview process.
The aim of testing the interview process will help ensure the interview is as straightforward as possible and the questions asked are understandable.

- be able to take part in the interview in English
What will I be asked to do?
Participants will be required to take part in a 30-60 minute interview. The interview will involve viewing several written descriptions of particular states of health and expressing their preference between different states for differing lengths of time.
The researchers will ask participants for feedback on the interview process in order to make any necessary changes to their explanation of the study and wording of study materials.
When & where?
The interviews will take place at Newcastle University at a time that is convenient for the participant. The researcher will contact participants to arrange this.
Will I get anything for taking part?
Participants will be given a £20 shopping voucher for taking part and travel expenses will be reimbursed.
