An opportunity to attend the Patient-Student Conference hosted by the MSc in Clinical Science at Newcastle University.

On Tuesday 14th March 2017 the MSc in Clinical Science at Newcastle University will be hosting a Patient-Student Conference, which you are invited to attend.

The aims of the conference are:

  • To help the public understand the role of clinical scientists within the NHS
  • To help students develop the way they explain aspects of their job to the public
  • To allow the public and patients to participate in student feedback
  • To allow students to interact with a larger percentage of the public
  • To share new ideas relating to communication
  • To share knowledge to help enhance all patient relationships
  • To help students to develop their understanding of patient and public perspectives of healthcare.

The event will take place in the David Shaw Lecture Theatre, Newcastle University Medical School.

The conference will be held between 10:00 and 14:30 with a short morning break and a longer break for lunch, which will be provided. Refreshments will be served in the foyer outside the Lecture Theatre from 9:30 and lunch will be in the same location, at approximately 12 noon. Project posters from some former students will also be on display in the foyer.

Anyone who expresses an interest in attending will be provided with a full timetable closer to the time.
