  • Influence

Aim

We would like to talk to people about their experiences of living with, or caring for someone with, multiple long term conditions to gain an understanding of the challenges involved. We would also like to gain an insight into how this group of people feel their lives could be improved.

This workshop will form part of an ongoing programme of work undertaken by VOICE and the NIHR Innovation Observatory, to identify the key challenges of people who live with multiple conditions. It is hoped that by identifying these challenges, research and innovation can be developed to improve the lives of those living with multiple conditions and their carers.

Volunteer Criteria

To take part in this workshop you must either:

  • Be aged over 60 and have experience of living with multiple medical conditions or health problems (minimum of 3)

OR

  • Have experience of caring for a friend or family member aged over 60 with multiple medical conditions or health problems (minimum of 3)

What will I be asked to do?

You will be asked to take part in an interactive workshop. The workshop will explore:

  • What conditions you, or the person you care for suffer from
  • Your experience of living with, or caring for someone with multiple conditions
  • The challenges of living with/caring for someone with multiple conditions
  • Your experience of health services for multiple conditions
  • How you think living with/caring for someone with multiple conditions could be improved

No prior work is involved, but you will be asked to speak openly and honestly about your conditions in small groups.

When and where?

The workshop will take place on Thursday 18th July, 1-4pm in the Invention rooms, Wood Lane near White City, London.
