An online insight activity for carers of people living with dementia with Lewy bodies.
*The date stated above is the deadline for this opportunity. You can complete it any time from now until the 10 September 2018!*
'The Imagine Series' is a new patient and public involvement (PPI) programme devised and coordinated by VOICE and delivered in collaboration with the NIHR Innovation Observatory. The Innovation Observatory is a national facility funded by the Department of Health and aims to see what the management of health conditions could, and should, look like in the future.
The focus of this programme of work within 'The Imagine Series' will be Dementia with Lewy bodies, with an emphasis on carer experience.
The Imagine Series is about putting carer experience, needs and priorities at the heart of what we do. Combining research evidence with valuable insights from carers, we will identify where the gaps in research are. We will be looking at the current direction of Dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB) research and exploring how this aligns with the needs and priorities of carers.
We at VOICE, the NIHR Innovation Observatory and the Lewy Body Society strongly believe in the importance of patients, carers, scientists and people who work in health and social care exchanging ideas and knowledge. We will first present you with a brief overview of DLB research and the themes that are currently being explored. You will then be asked to complete a series of exercises based on your personal experiences of caring for someone living with Dementia with Lewy bodies.
The activity outcomes will be used to stimulate further discussions with researchers in the field of dementia with Lewy bodies, shining a light on the key challenges, priorities and unmet needs of patients and carers. VOICE and the Innovation Observatory will also work with key stakeholders across the NHS and Department of Health to help shape future research and contribute to funding priorities.
The Lewy Body Society funded this short film to promote awareness of Lewy body dementia. The film was produced by ITN Productions on behalf of the NHS alliance and was launched at their summit on the 6th December in London.
You must be a current or former caregiver for a person living with Dementia with Lewy bodies to take part in this online insight activity.
During the activity we will present you with a brief overview of recent and on-going research, highlighting the key themes they address. You will be asked to complete a range of short exercises to highlight key challenges that you have encountered when caring for someone living with DLB, and you will have the opportunity to think about some potential solutions to these challenges.
The online insight activity can be completed at any time up until 10 September 2018, right here on the VOICE website! Just follow the following steps to take part;
