An opportunity to give feedback on a questionnaire about attitudes towards data sharing, before it is shared with participants.
A questionnaire about attitudes towards data sharing has been drafted. Before it is distributed to participants, the researcher would like to ask VOICE members to act as test participants to help to ensure that it is easy to understand and that questions are not misinterpreted, as well as making suggestions for improvements. Giving future participants a good questionnaire that has been tested thoroughly will ensure that any data collected and any conclusions drawn from it are also as valid as possible.
Anyone is able to take part in this opportunity.
Participants will sit with the researcher one to one for approximately 1 hour to read through the paper questionnaire survey. They will need to give feedback on the questions (how easy they are to read and understand for example), and there may be some prompting or questions from the researcher. The discussion will be recorded by the researcher so that more detailed notes can be taken later. Once the notes are typed up, the recording will be destroyed.
It is also possible for participants to take part by email, providing written feedback on the questionnaire which can be emailed to them.
The researcher will meet with the participants at a time and date convenient to them before the end of February. A room will be booked at Newcastle University (main campus).
Tea and coffee will be provided at the meeting. Travel within the North East will be reimbursed.
