Aim

The aim of this event is share insights and experience on the opportunities and challenges of independent living as people get older and to discuss and develop solutions.

The event is led by the National Innovation Centre for Ageing (NICA) and the Innovation SuperNetwork.

This workshop is the second in a series of workshops (supported by NICA and Innovation SuperNetwork) to turn opportunities and challenges affecting independent living into business opportunities, with new businesses being created in Spring 2019.

Volunteer Criteria

Anyone can attend this event. The event is free but registration is required, click the 'Register' button to access the external booking page.

What will I be asked to do?

The event will begin with a presentation and then there will be approximately two hours for group discussions and feedback.

In the group discussions, you will be asked to:

  • share your insights and ideas on unmet needs and aspirations in relation to independent living
  • ask questions of the speakers and other contributors to challenge understanding of the issues and opportunities
  • take part in group discussions on the solutions that could help to address unmet needs and aspirations

When and where?

The event will take place on Thursday 10th January, 1-5pm at the Discovery Museum in Newcastle.

Will I get anything for taking part?

Travel expenses will be reimbursed and refreshments will be provided.
