Attend a lecture in the Insights Public Lecture Programme.
Will Hutton, author and broadcaster
Tuesday 22nd May, 17:30-18:45
Instead of an innovative productive economy, we have a capitalism that extracts value rather than creates it. With technological possibilities multiplying, Britain must aim to create an economy, society and democracy in which the mass of citizens flourish.
Free admission, all seats are allocated on a first-come first-served basis.
Public lectures at Newcastle University are free and open to all. The aim is to offer a programme that will inform, stimulate, entertain, and excite debate.
Many speakers are leaders in their field and all have something of special interest to convey. The lectures cover a wide range of disciplines and frequently include key contemporary issues, particularly those that affect our daily lives.
Any views expressed by speakers are their own, and do not necessarily reflect the views of Newcastle University.
All lectures are free and open to all, with spaces allocated on a first-come first-served basis. For more popular talks an overspill room will be in operation.
Recordings of some past lectures can be found here.
