Enjoyed the Forum on Thursday and look forward to seeing InvestAge developing! I'll even take some of my pittance out of the Credit Union and invest!

This is a small sample of what is already available for the older investor - I am still struggling to see how an unauthorised organisation can take our personal information :(

But the big question is "WHY"?

As previously explained in response to your other posts below, there is NO unauthorised access to peoples personal data and it is completely anonymous. Explicit consent needs to be given by participants if they wish to volunteer to be part of the focus group or made aware of future news on the project, in which case, only then details like name and email address will be requested to enable us to contact those who are interested in taking part further.

Therefore, participation in this is survey is 100% optional. If at any point, people are still uncomfortable with the questions asked in the survey, they have the option to opt-out at any point.

The why has also been explained previously below - this research is to help the co-operative to understand the types of age-related-projects that its potential beneficiary members (older demographics) would most like to see its funds distributed, as well as the general interest in the concept overall.

Hello - I wish you had given us some references so that we could read & understand about you before doing the survey - or was this deliberate(?)

I found these web references which give more information on "who - what - why" and reading these changes my opinion/attitude.

So...... for anyone else who may be interested:

No wonder you have Mister Grumpy as your avatar - all you do is moan and complain!

    lol - No - I'm just careful.

Money is personal - when you don't know who you may be dealing with.

For example, I don't know who "NeilB_NUBS" is - the description of the aims is a bit wishy-washy.

I am old - money is personal - I am careful - Once it is gone I can't get a refill.

    I comment & ask questions - I don't moan or complain :)

I've responded previously, but had a repeat request. A second response is offered.

    Who are these people?

    Are they registered, financial advisors?

    Are they a commercial company?

How do I know that my details will be safe with them?

Is VOICE recommending them - if "YES" then what are your registration details?

Why is VOICE doing this - what does VOICE get out of this?

This project is being led by a Newcastle University PhD student from the Business School who is working with a business to find out about what people's attitudes towards savings and investments are. As always with VOICE we take the security of your data very seriously and your personal details won't be shared with any third parties without your explicit permission.

Hi Ian - Thanks for your questions and concern.

This research is a brand-new co-operative investment membership fund that is being developed to help finance programmes related to "later-life" issues. When visiting the website, by clicking on the relevant links, you will be able to find out a lot more information about exactly who the founders of this organisation are and their exact credentials.

The fund which is hoping to open later this year is also registered with the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).

The purpose of this research is to help the co-operative to understand the types of age-related-projects that its potential members would most like to see its fund and the general interest in the concept.

VOICE is independent of the company that we are generating feedback for and in no way provides its endorsement of this fund or will never provide financial advice. It is merely providing its online platform to help the co-operative understand the interest in the fund and how to best cater to its potential future members.

Please be reassured, nobody is under any obligation to register with InvestAge on their website. The choice is entirely optionally for the respondent.

Hope this clears things up. Thank you.

    Neil

I completed the survey - It was quite simple except for a couple of points.

Question 4 - Gender - why only two choices - Male & Female?

Question 8 - you don't state if you want gross or nett income.

You didn't remove the end portion where you ask people to give their personal details.

A general comment - most of the things you say you will support are already adequately supported(my opinion).

    12th July 2019

Question 4 has now been updated to enable respondents to specify other choices. Question 8 is gross income. The last question about personal details has been clarified as being completely OPTIONAL , as there has been interest from respondents who do want to be involved in the focus groups and register their interest in finding out more.

    Thanks for your feedback.

I don't seem to be able to get to the questionaire so perhaps you can enlighten me - what other choices ?? Although there are, of course, transgenders - as far as I know there are still only 2 genders
