As part of International Rare Disease Day, the Institute of Genetic Medicine will be hosting their annual Genetics Matters event on 23rd February 2019.
Come and meet the scientists, touch real specimens, chat about rare diseases and hear about the exciting state of the art research at Newcastle University.
"Genetics Matters" annual event serves to showcase genetic research and to give the patient and charity organisations a voice and a platform to interact with members of the general public. The theme of the Rare Disease Day in 2019 is "Bridging Health and Social Care", highlighting the brilliant work that care workers and patient organisations do working together with rare disease patients and clinical communities in the UK and worldwide, and the crucial role that the patients play by voicing their needs and instigating change.
