BelleVie Care is a home care services company primarily based in Oxfordshire who are looking to improve the user experience of their current website for customers who enquire about their services. This website redesign project was carried out by an independent User Researcher, Afzal Ghani and UX Designer, Oge Nwadike on behalf of BelleVie Care and aimed to identify BelleVie’s target customer, understand their needs when searching for home care services online and then improve that experience based on those needs.

To do this, we needed to speak to a specific subset of people. Particularly, people who had taken out home care services in the past for a family member or friend, or who had an experience of searching for home care services in last 6 months. There were other sub criteria such as age and location, but the former criteria was most important as this would give us the most authentic insight into people’s digital experiences when looking for home care.

VOICE played an instrumental role in helping us recruit the right kind of people to participate in a remote user interview and usability test of the website. All we had to do was provide VOICE with a criteria and dates for the interviews while they handled the recruitment and scheduling. We spoke with two individuals from the VOICE group and from those sessions we gained invaluable insight to the wants, goals, fears and challenges of people searching, enquiring and selecting home care.

The website redesign isn’t a finished project yet, but feedback from the participants we spoke to is helping to inform the content of specific pages on the website, the structure and organisation of information and most importantly the overall design of BelleVie Care’s new website. Ultimately, making it easier for potential customers to achieve their goals and for BelleVie to achieve increased and better leads via their website.
