onHand in the North East

We have been working with an innovative Tech for Good company to pilot their service in the North East of England. They match vetted volunteers with people who need help with everyday tasks such as shopping, medication collection, and companionship calls and have delivered 1000s of hours of help in London.
With volunteers from Newcastle Building Society, onHand have started helping people in the North East and beyond. Several people have received companionship phone calls from Newcastle Building Society Volunteers and have really enjoyed it.
“I spoke to one of your volunteers and it was so nice, we spoke about everything. She even mentioned about onHand doing my shops for me - I am now looking forward to speaking with her again."
We have also had our first face to face interaction with Samantha from Newcastle Building Society helping out in Julie’s garden in Newcastle. Despite the rain, Samantha did an amazing job and Julie was very happy with the help.
“Samantha left 10mins ago. Says to rebook and she will accept? Also said she needs help. Pouring down, so very impressed she still came :-)”
